Building a custom home is a major undertaking, and we keep it clear and straightforward from the very first day. Since 2009, Marquis Builders has been a design and build firm crafting custom homes from $1.5M across San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country.
We personalize every project to fit your daily life, and we show you exactly how the work gets done, from the first pre-construction meeting through the year after you move in.



Our Process
You'll know what to expect at every stage, from your first conversation through your first year living in the home.
We start with a thorough pre-construction meeting. We discuss design features and finish-out ideas, explain the process, and set clear expectations from day one.
We consider this the most important step. The cost proposal accounts for lot conditions, utility costs, design features, and finish allowances.
Build times average nine to twelve months from lot clear to move-in. A designer guides you through every selection: colors, flooring, cabinets, and finishes. Throughout construction, we provide weekly updates and periodic site meetings.
When the home is done, we walk you through it in detail. You leave the walkthrough knowing how every system works and where everything lives.
We check in periodically throughout your first year in the home, so anything that needs attention gets handled.
The home you imagined is yours to live in. What we built becomes the foundation for years of life with the people who matter most.
Open Communication
It comes down to open communication and careful planning from the very start. When you understand up front the conditions that drive pricing and cost throughout a build, you can plan for them. We work to be as thorough as possible on the front end, so the "surprise factors" the industry is known for never become yours.



Your Budget
Before construction begins, we set clear allowances for plumbing fixtures, electrical items, countertops, cabinetry, and appliances, based on your preferences. Our suppliers partner with us to deliver the best pricing possible, and we pass that straight through to you. If your selections in one category come in over budget, savings in another can offset the difference, and any unused funds come back to you at completion.
If something changes along the way, we handle it on a cost-plus basis, talked through and agreed with you before the work happens. You always know what you are spending, and why.
Change Orders
Plans change, and that is normal. If you want to adjust something before bidding, we work it into the plan during pre-construction, while it is still simple to account for.
